Sophomore Ashley Corral was named Pac-10 Player of the Week today after leading the Trojans to two wins over the weekend. It was the first such selection for the point guard and the first for the USC women’s basketball team all season.

On Thursday Corral led the Women of Troy to a 55-53 win over Arizona on Thursday at the Galen Center. Corral had 9 points, 6 assists and 2 steals in the game. in the game, Corral also broke the USC single-season record of 72, set by Brynn Cameron in 2005 with two 3-pointers against the Wildcats.
Corral added to her 3-point record on Saturday at the Galen Center with 4 more 3-pointers against Arizona State. Corral had 20 points, 3 assists and 2 steals in the 62-52 victory over the Sun Devils. Corral’s new record is 77 3-pointers in a single season, but that total is sure to change.
Corral and the Women of Troy have won 5 games in a row leading up to the Pac-10 Tournament, which starts on Thursday at the Galen Center. The Women of Troy (18-11, 12-6) are the third seed in the tournament and face No. 6 Oregon on Friday at 5 p.m.
