For many students, spring break is over. But for USC’s baseball team, break can’t end if it never started. The Trojans just came back from a seven game road series. USC started in Hawaii and ended the trip in Stockton. The team played a four game series with Hawaii and then a three game stint against Pacific. USC went 4-3 during this time on the road and currently sit in ninth place in the Pac-10.
The Trojans went 3-1 against the Rainbow Warriors, only losing the first match Friday and winning the next three Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Hawaii wasn’t much of a challenge for USC, but Pacific was a different story.
USC lost the first two games, only winning its final matchup against Pacific. The Tiger’s bats were on fire the first two games, and the Trojans weren’t able to catch up. USC did a better job of closing the gap in the second game, only losing 6-5. However, Pacific was able to hold on to the one run lead. In the last game, the hitting bug switched teams as the Trojans’ bats came alive. USC rolled to a 15-9 win.
The Trojans next game is tomorrow at 6:30pm against Pepperdine at Dedeaux Field.
