A homeless man wearing a jacket and hat reading ‘security,’ was handcuffed and questioned on the USC campus Wednesday. There were complaints after the man, 40-year-old Daniel Wright, tried to enter the locked University Church immediately after another person entered.
Speaking to ATVN, Wright said he tried to talk to a pastor at the church about getting some food and financial assistance. Officers handcuffed and questioned him for several minutes before letting him go. Police took away his pepper spray canister which officers said was empty and close to five years old.
Officers said they are familiar with Wright, as he has walked through campus several times before.
