USC’s CALPIRG (California Student Public Interest Research Group) staged a “die-in” Thursday in front of Tommy Trojan. Fifteen members laid on the floor at 10:45 a.m. for ten minutes to draw attention to the growing number of deaths in America due to a lack of insurance coverage.

USC’s CALPIRG’s campus organizer, William Sealy, told ATVN he thought the demonstration was a successs, with hundreds of students witnessing the event.
According to the CALPIRG, 45,000 people die every year because they can’t afford health insurance.
The group has been on campus for four years focusing on issues like global warming, poverty, clean oceans and improving young voter turnout.
