Los Angeles City Council President Eric Garcetti and
union officials will hold a news conference to call on banks to properly
maintain foreclosed properties. Garcetti will outline his efforts to pass a
local ordinance requiring that vacant, bank-owned properties be maintained
under penalty of fines. The group will also unveil a website with an
interactive map allowing residents to locate foreclosed properties in their
